Trying to override ui_component file

We’ve been customized a module, changing its layout. Everything works fine there with the regular overwriting method, for example:

appdesignfrontendXXdefaultXXtemplatespostlist – works fine.

But doing it for: appcodeXXBlogviewadminhtmlui_componentblog_post_form.xml

To:
appdesignfrontendXXdefaultXXviewadminhtmlui_componentblog_post_form.xml

It doesn’t seem to override. Does it work differently for ui_component files? Any help is appreciated!!
